2. Collection, processing and use of personal data
a) When visiting the website
If you use our website for information purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we do not collect any personal data, with the exception of the data that your browser transmits to enable you to visit the website.
These are
- IP address
- Date and time of the enquiry
- Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
- Content of the request (specific page)
- Access status/HTTP status code
- Amount of data transferred in each case
- Website from which the request originates
- Browser type
- Operating system and its interface
- Language and version of the browser software
b) Use of Matomo (formerly Piwik) for web analysis
This website uses Matomo, an open source software for the statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo uses so-called ‘cookies’, text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analysed.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymised before it is saved by saving only the leading 2 bytes of the IPv4 address, e.g. only 192.168.xxx.xxx (xxx = not saved). This allows very rough geolocalisation, but does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the current position of the Internet access.
The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website is not passed on to third parties. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
If you do not agree to the storage and use of your data, you can deactivate the storage and use here. In this case, an opt-out cookie will be stored in your browser that prevents Matomo from storing usage data. If you delete your cookies, the Matomo opt-out cookie will also be deleted. The opt-out must be reactivated when you visit our site again.
3. Your rights
In accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act, you have the right to
- to request information about your personal data processed by us
- to demand the immediate correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data stored by us
- to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us, unless the processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims
- to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request that it be transferred to another controller
- to revoke your consent once given to us at any time. As a result, we may no longer continue the data processing that was based on this consent in the future
- to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can lodge a complaint with the Data protection supervisory authority of the Canton of Bern (in German).
4. Data security
We use the widespread SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser when you visit our website. As a rule, this is 256-bit encryption. You can recognise whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.
We also use suitable technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
5. Up-to-dateness and amendment of these statements
These data protection statements are currently valid and are dated 2024-05-08. It may become necessary to amend this information as a result of the further development of our website and offers on it or due to changes in legal or official requirements. You can call up and print out the current data protection statements at any time on the website under Privacy.
