PlusMat
Founded in 2011 in Schüpfen, Plus MAT AG is a Swiss company dedicated to sustaining precious values during photovoltaic (PV) electricity production. At present, Plus MAT AG is developing a cost effective system, including machines and processes, to recover PV grade Silicon particles during PV wafering process and to reinject them directly into the PV module production line. The success of the project is extremely meaningful in reducing the production cost of PV electricity, which is at present the bottleneck for PV industry to compete with traditional energy resources, or other alternative energy resources.
The STI loan (approved 2012) will allow the company to build up a small-scale prototype Silicon recovery system and optimize the recovery process accordingly.
