Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que le conseil de fondation de la STI a élu le professeur Dr Raoul Waldburger comme nouveau président du conseil de fondation. Il a pris ses fonctions en février 2024 et succède au professeur Dr Lukas Rohr.

Raoul Waldburger bénéficie de plusieurs années d’expérience de direction dans le secteur privé et dans l’environnement universitaire. Il a étudié l’ingénierie chimique à l’EPF de Zurich. Après avoir obtenu son doctorat auprès de l’Institut du génie des procédés de l’EPF de Zurich, il a commencé sa carrière en en tant qu’ingénieur projet chez F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG et a obtenu un Executive MBA à l’université de Saint-Gall en parallèle. En 1999, Raoul Waldburger a assumé des fonctions d’état-major parmi les cadres dirigeants de Holcim Ltd. puis des fonctions de direction à l’échelle internationale dans des sociétés nationales en Europe centrale et orientale ainsi qu’au sein de la filiale Geocycle Ltd. orientée vers le développement durable et l’économie circulaire.

Il occupe depuis 2022 le poste de directeur des départements Technique et Informatique de la HESB Haute école spécialisée bernoise. Sa vaste expérience dans la direction d’entreprises et d’institutions académiques, associée à son expertise dans la promotion de l’innovation et de l’entrepreneuriat, fait du professeur Raoul Waldburger la personne idéale pour succéder à la fondation STI.

Lukas Rohr, président en exercice jusqu’à présent, reste membre régulier du conseil de fondation. Nous le remercions pour son engagement et sommes heureux qu’il continue à soutenir la fondation.

Die Stiftung für technologische Innovation STI gibt eine Veränderung in seiner Geschäftsleitung und im Sekretariat bekannt. Ab dem 1. September 2023 übernimmt Peter Brunner die Position des Geschäftsführers. Er löst damit Bärbel Selm ab, die nach knapp 15 Jahren erfolgreicher Führung die Stiftung verlässt. Peter Brunner bringt mit seinem Wirken in der angewandten Forschung, im Technologietransfer und in der Jungunternehmerförderung  beste Voraussetzungen mit, die STI weiterzuführen. Per 1. Oktober übernimmt Katja Jeanbourquin die Sekretariatsstelle von Bénédicte Petitat, die diese Aufgabe seit der Gründung der STI im 2005 sehr engagiert ausgeführt hat. Wir möchten an dieser Stelle die Gelegenheit nutzen, um Bärbel Selm und Bénédicte Petitat für ihre unermüdliche Arbeit zu danken. Mit ihnen hat die STI zahlreiche Förderungen von erfolgreichen Hightech-Startups ermöglicht und damit die Rolle der STI in der Förderlandschaft fest etabliert.

Das Burgdorfer Startup Yuon Control fasst im B2B-Markt Fuss. Die Steuerung bestehend aus Hardware und Software kommt gleich bei zwei Fernwärmenetz-Projekten in Bern und Basel zum Einsatz. Daneben kann das Cleantech-Startup seine Lösung über Plattformen der Berner Kantonalbank und Helvetia direkt für B2C-Kunden anbieten.

ETH-spinoff Gaia Technologies is building scalable solutions to enable the industry to replace harmful chemicals with renewable biocompounds. The core of their IP is a fully biodegradable sorbent that can be regenerated several times before serving as soil amendment.

Algorithmus ein Modell des Gebäudes generiert und dadurch dazu beiträgt, bis zu 25 Prozent an Heizenergie zu sparen.

Die Bieler Stimit AG konnte sich in der Kategorie Startup mit dem STIMIT Activator durchsetzen. Das innovative Produkt stimuliert bei Intensivpatienten – nicht-invasiv – die Zwerchfell Muskulatur und verkürzt so die Entwöhnungszeit nach einer künstlichen Beatmung um 40 bis 50 Prozent. «Das Produkt hat grosses Potenzial. Es wird bereits erfolgreich eingesetzt, und Stimit hat für die Finanzierung eine kluge Strategie gewählt», erklärt Stefan Philippi, Dozent am Institut für Unternehmensführung der FHNW und Jury-Mitglied der Swiss Excellence Stiftung in seiner Laudatio. Das 2018 gegründete Unternehmen gehört seit gut einem Jahr mehrheitlich zur deutschen Medizintech-Gruppe Dräger.
